Business Description:
Kabirdass Motor Company was formed in 2006 to develop and commercialize zero emission vehicles(“ZEV”) in the name of ‘XITE’. Kabirdass is a group company of Best Cast IT Ltd (Best Cast). Best Castis a leading aluminum casting and machined automobile parts manufacturing company. The turnoverof Best Cast for the year ended March 31, 2008 is around Rs. 55.00 crores with a Profit of Rs. 1.10 crores.The customers of Best Cast It Ltd are Royal Enfield Motors (Eicher Motor groups), Areva T&D, MandoBrakes, Rane TRW, Flowserve Corporation USA, ABB India & USA, etc.The Company decided to manufacture battery operated electric vehicles to encash the vast experienceof its promoters in auto component industry, its time-tested ability in vendor development and thegrowing demand for non polluting vehicles. These Scooters are battery operated scooters and provideclean, efficient, reliable, and affordable city transportation. The first series of Electric bikes and scootersmanufactured by Kabirdass is an advanced zero-emission, battery-powered scooterettes that offersfrom 250 Watt to 1500 Watt powered electric bikes and scooters. With the ever increasing problem ofpollution levels through vehicle emissions, these environmental friendly bikes/ scooters seems to be thebest bet for genNext consumers.Kabirdass which has been selling XITE-bikes and scooters for over a year now maps its customer profileunder 18 years, or above 40 years. The Company has also appointed distributors & dealers in the statesof Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Orissa and West Bengal. The Company has embarkedupon Localization Program of key components. The company has a R&D Team to improvise theproduct based on customer feed back. The R&D is also involved in new product design in line with theIndian market requirement.The operating costs of the Electric bikes and scooters are very low (less than one unit of per charge forevery 50 km) which is a major attraction for the Indian market. Added to this is the fact that noregistration and driving license are required for vehicles below 250 watts. The vehicle does not requireany regular maintenance and is also environment friendly as it does not use any fuel. Though theproduct can be used by all, KMCL is mainly targeting college students, senior citizens and house wives.The company has in a span of 21 months successfully sold over 1,800 bikes and scooters .
